So we’re 6 days into April now and we’ve got something to show you. Its not much but its been coded with perfection, time taken with code, and time taken about thinking about usability.

So i’ve been using Windows Seven for ages now, I’ve tested every build I’ve been able to get my hands on. I’ve leaked a few to the larger public area and people have been more than thankful.
Im the whole jumble of things I’m a website developer, its my job and passion but for Work windows 7 still isnt finished. The OS is but the stats and online progression just isnt up to par yet. For example, I’ve got a few different logging programs on my servers and I do look at them all carefully, for example when you come to my site your IP and browser info is logged.
Currently on all my software Windows 7 (Running IE 8/Firfox 3.5/Chrome 2(nightly) and Safari) shows in stats and logs as Windows NT 4. Everyone knows that Windows 7 is based off the NT kernal but I think its a little bit strange, this late in the game, Windows NT 4 still isnt labled anywhere as Windows 7.
You could take this a number of ways, it could mean theres a huge name change coming, (Thats not going to happen). It could meant hat they’re going to discontinue this codebase and this is the, if you like, graveyard. I’ve e-mailed the Windows 7 Developers that I know about the small issue but for the ast month I’ve had nothing back about it.
We will see….
If you currently follow me on Twitter you might have clocked onto the fact that I have three blogs feeding into it. I do all this with Twitter Tools from Alex King. The plugin is great but it does make things a little difficult to work with, if you were to have three blogs feeding into it. So currently I have pureelite.co.uk saying “New Blog Post:”. Initialsketch says “Company News” and this blog says “Jakes Blog”.
CurrentlyAlex King hasnt programmed in the ability to change the prefix to announcing it, but its very easy. Even a wordpress “newbie” could do it. So the following steps are the ones we’re going to take to change the prefix.

Now you’ve selected that, It should load the code for the plugin.

Please then go down to line, 171. This is the PHP line that sets the prefix for the announced tweet.
You can edit this to anything you’d like and then it should appear changed when you next post a blog. Although my advice is, dont make it too long, you still have to fix all the link and post title in.
Make sure to save and your done.
