The best “Job Hunting” sites

September 5th, 2011 by Jake in Posted in Job Hunting | 6 Comments »

I have come to one conclusion, Job Hunting isnt fun for anyone.

For about two weeks now, I’ve been looking for a new job, been looking high and low, but with over 1 million people in the UK unemployed its becoming an actual fight for jobs. Realistically I could stay at my current job and if you put everything into context its not that bad but its time to move on and expand.

With varied shift patterns its hard to keep the business going when I cant tell people when im free, so its time to go. Theres hundreds of other things wrong with the job aswell but it wouldn’t be wise to post that online while I still work there…

Being an Online Ninja, when I decided that I need a new job, my first point of contact was job sites. Luckilly I already had my favorite ones bookmarked, so below is just a few of the best ones that I’ve used.

I wouldn’t recommend monster for searching for jobs but on the upside they’re CV advice and interview advice is invaluable. You’ve got some amazing people there which bend over backwards to help you, no matter what.

If you’ve got some good sites you’d like to add then please comment and I will add them to the post!

A blazing strike of luck

Here we go, things are getting underway, I’ve got an interview at apple! I applied out of just, well, hope. I’ve been offered a brilliant chance, Im attending a recruitment event this week and hopefully I will make a good impression.

This is a job I’d really enjoy, something I’d be passionate about and well something I can look forward to doing everyday.

Such good news!

Summer is nearly over

September 3rd, 2011 by Jake in Posted in Life | 3 Comments »

Its coming to that time of year now, where people are starting new walks of life and some are returning to what they’re used too. I dont know about everyone else but I’ve had one of the best summers ever.

  • Moved back home, to spend time with the family, means I get to know them all again which is nice.
  • Went on holiday to a part of the world I’ve never been too, met some amazing new friends which I know I will be close to in the future.
  • Looked and decided on a plan to move out with Katie, which is nice. Means a brighter future is just around the corner.
  • Spent most evenings working or cuddled up with Katie, which means our relationship has grown so much :)
  • Applied for a ton of jobs, got turned down for leads but some promising interviews are just round the corner.

Pretty Damn Good Summer!

Lets get on with another few months until the end of the year shall we?!

Well everything went wrong

I dont know if you ever get that feeling, when everything is going a little bit too well. It started in the evening and slowly got worse until I got home from a very long day at work.

Server and hosting company went into administration, all backups gone, laptop decided it didn’t want to continue its hard work and just gave up on me. I know that many of my friends here online do have bad luck but it doesn’t get any worse than getting in at two am to find all this mess.

Either way I’ve spent the last week, building back up all the sites that were lost. Probably the most annoying thing I’ve ever done.

If you hadnt guessed by the way, I lost all my blog entries. I’ve got the design finished now, all it needs is a good few days coding.

Speak soon guys!
